Creating tasks automatically - how to trigger creation of tasks

Hi all

I wanted tasks to be created when new leads were added and followed certain criteria.  I posted in these forums a while back about how to do that but didn't get a response. 

I tested it yesterday and my alert email worked but the tasks didn't get created. I tried various combinations of +/- days.  I searched through the forums and couldn't find the answer though I did find others searching.

Since this is a make or break part of our evaluation, I contacted support.  Other than I couldn't quite understand the guy, I am happy to report that I got my answer.

Tasks must be associated with a rule for the task to be created.  Maybe you guys found this in the documentation but I couldn't.

On the create rule screen, you have options to create alerts and tasks.  IT DOES NOT say on that screen to associate the newly created task with a rule.  Simply to save it.   You MUST go back and associate the rule with the task.
