critical feedback (again-same issue!)

I quick create a lead (Derek)- the go into new activity, choose event. set all my date/time/notification parameters. then hit save, locks up my entire system, cant access any other program until i ctrl/alt/delete it- then i go back in, the event is set, i click on edit, ahd here we go again!
