CRM Calendars Stopped Working

A colleague of mine has been using the CRM module for a couple of months -- no major issues.  But now he reports that he can no longer see the "mini calendars" that usually appear when one clicks on (a) the nav-bar menu icon or (b) when he tries to edit the date of an Event (clicking the Edit link).  (See attachment for pic of the mini-calendar about which I am speaking.)


Has there been a recent coding change that would affect this?  He's using IE for a browser.  It's working FINE on my computer with both IE 11 and Chrome.
