CRM Dashboard upgrades: Dashboard Locking, display large numbers in shortened form, and additional display of record count in KPIs

Hello Enterprise Community,

Zoho CRM dashboards provide a quick and comprehensive view of your organization's performance, facilitating faster and more efficient decision-making. Our new enhancements will improve the security and usability of dashboards.

Shared dashboards can now be locked for increased security

Dashboard creators and CRM admins can now lock dashboards. Shared users with the 'Manage Analytics' profile permission will have full privileges when a dashboard is shared. However, it is now possible to restrict a specific dashboard's privileges by locking it.

For instance, if a dashboard in CRM is utilized for tracking sales performance and informing decisions in weekly meetings, the regional sales director may wish to share it with sales managers without granting them editing capabilities. In such cases, the sales director can lock the dashboard while sharing it with sales managers.

It's crucial to note that only the dashboard creator and CRM admin can make changes to locked dashboards. They are the only ones with the ability to unlock the dashboard.

Large numbers can be shown in a more user-friendly way

As your company grows, the numbers for various metrics usually go up. For example, your revenue might go up from $10,000 to $143,765,000. These figures can be harder to comprehend, especially when they are grouped together in a dashboard component.

For example, try reading this chart.

Understanding the numbers feels like a slow process rather than an immediate comprehension.

Now, you have the option to display large numbers in shorter formats for easier comprehension and comparison.

You can select the display format for metrics. You can choose between K (thousands), M (millions), B (billions), L (Lakhs), and C (Crores). You can choose which metrics need to be shortened and which do not. Choose the decimal places for the metrics used in a dashboard component to improve readability.

Let's look at the same chart again after our change:

Display the number of records along with the metric in KPIs

You have the option to show record counts alongside the metric in your KPI components, which is a small yet valuable addition.

For example, you can easily understand whether a rise in revenue is due to an increase in the number of deals or an increase in the average deal size by viewing both the number of deals and revenue in CRM, where monthly revenue is calculated by aggregating data from multiple deals. Similar comparisons can be made in other KPIs by enabling the Display record count option.

What's next
  • Component-level filters for users to apply different data perspectives easily.
  • Ability to recover deleted dashboards and components.
  • Ability to club related grouping values into buckets in components.
