Hello everyone !
Typically, when users sign up to Zoho CRM, they start by adding Leads and then convert them into Contacts. . Let's say a CRM administrator creates custom fields in Leads and Contacts modules, and educates the Sales reps to convert them when there is some progress on that Lead. You run into situations where the Leads would have converted to Contacts but with some missing information. The lead conversion mapping feature bails you out of this situation.
But then, what would you do if you have already converted them without mapping them?
The Converted leads report - provided as a part of standard reports - in Zoho CRM lets you group by sales reps and helps you see the number of Leads converted every month by each sales person. These numbers help determine the performance of the sales reps. This report retains all the information of the Contacts from the time they were added as leads . Yes, you use the information available here to populate the missing information. And here is how you do it:
Step 1: Export the converted leads report.
Go to Reports module->Select Leads report folder from the left->Search for Converted Leads report->Edit the report->Locate "Report representation tab"->Add the missing columns->Save the report->Export it in to an Excel or CSV file.
Step 2: Import the file and update the existing data.
Go to Contacts module->Import button at the top right->Import contacts->Choose the file->Hit next->Select Update existing contacts only->Select Existing contacts using Email address->Check the box "Don't update empty values for existing records"->Map the missing fields->Hit Import.

This updates all the missing information in your contacts. After this is done, do not forget to map these fields in the lead conversion mapping so as to avoid doing redundant work in future. Use this hack in cases where you might need a new custom field and might have forgotten to map them.
