Hello everyone!

You can now invite portal users using their mobile phone numbers. These portal users will be able to log in using their mobile number and OTP. Templates for these portal-related SMS can be customized as per your needs.

This enhancement is currently supported for companies registered in India. You can send portal-related SMS from your registered sender IDs to customers in India. To send invitations to users, their mobile numbers should start with +91.

You can set the invitation preference for each portal user type to either email or phone. Previously, email was the only option. This preference can be modified only when the portal user type has no users or portal forms.

Then, you can customize the SMS templates. Please note that these templates are used for sending SMS to all user types whose invitation preference is Phone.

Once these templates have been approved by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) , upload the DLT (distributed ledger technology) file(s) in the CRM and map them to the CRM templates. Please ensure that you've whitelisted the URLs used in your templates. Based on your CRM's DC, you'll need to whitelist one of the following domains:
  • in.zcrm.to - IN
  • ca.zcrm.to - CA
  • us.zcrm.to - US
  • eu.zcrm.to - EU
  • au.zcrm.to - AU
  • cn.zcrm.to - CN
  • jp.zcrm.to - JP

Once these templates have been verified, you can invite external stakeholders to the portal using their mobile phone numbers.

Those stakeholders will be able to login by accessing the portal URL, entering their mobile number, and submitting the OTP sent to their phone numbers.

Prerequisites
  • In this initial release, this enhancement is supported for companies registered in India.
  • The Notification SMS feature has to be enabled in order to set the invitation preference to phone.
  • The credits needed for sending the portal-related SMS is taken from the Notification SMS feature.
  • Only Indian customers who have sender IDs registered with the DLT (distributed ledger technology) in India can use this enhancement.
  • Portal-related SMS messages can be sent to Indian phone numbers only.
  • Ensure that the CTAs used in your message templates are whitelisted. To learn more, please see: Important TRAI mandate on URL whitelisting for Indian CRM customers.

Availability
Editions: Enterprise and Ultimate
DCs: All. Please note that only customers who have Sender IDs registered with DLT can utilize this enhancement for portal users with Indian phone numbers.

Hi Guys,

the feature might be nice but can you please ensure that our customers don't see "Mobile Number" when they logon?! We don't have this feature and now our customers are confused what they have to enter.

When I enter a phone number, then the message "Invalid email address. Check if you are entering it correctly.".

PLEASE CHANGE!

Thank you!
