Is there any way to create a "Custom Button" that would initiate a workflow, or call a custom function, preferably directly from a ticket?


In Zoho CRM records can have custom links and buttons that make outside integrations relatively simple.

Zoho, 7 years of people badgering for this basic feature that exists in other Zoho products, and it simply is acknowledged by your team for public notice. Meanwhile, it is clearly being ignored by your product team. And this topic is still not designated as an "Idea" with all the upvotes here being counted. Not even sure if your team is looking at this as an actual request since the tag simply says "Answered".

As a dedicated member of the Zoho Desk Community, you might know that we genuinely value user feedback and have made it a point to implement many of the most-upvoted features, Mikhail.

There are, however, times when, despite strong demand, we cannot deliver certain functionalities. This is not due to a lack of interest or unwillingness to listen, but rather the technical and logistical challenges we face.



I believe this request was initially raised as a question and marked "Answered," which caused the status to reflect that. It should have been updated, but it seems that was overlooked. I have corrected it now, and with 22 upvotes, I wanted to share an update.

We have already started developing this functionality and are halfway there. Unfortunately, we have had to temporarily pause due to other release priorities, so I cannot give a firm timeline at the moment. However, we are optimistic about bringing this back on track and providing an update to the community in the coming quarters.

Hi,

We would really like this too. At the moment I am having to add check boxes to the layouts and then trigger scripts based on the box being checked. A Button would make this a lot more user friendly.

Thanks for your interest in the feature, Matthew. I’d like to understand if macros didn’t meet your needs, as you’re using the checkbox instead of macro rules. Could you share more on this?

I don't think that macros will work for me because the checkbox that I am using is on a Contact record. I suppose I should have mentioned that I would like to be able to add the custom buttons to the contact and account records or views. 

Currently we are using the checkbox to trigger some actions in looking up data from CRM for the contact and not related to a ticket.
