Custom Client Portals
We implement quite a lot in the Building and Construction industry and we had about 200 builder clients. This is where the idea started, but then we had some finance companies that wanted to also display data from custom modules. The key requirements are to
1. Create the portal access from a custom module, client and subcontractor access.
2. Pull data/fields from custom modules.
3. Enable or Disable records from appearing in the portal from CRM.
4. Have attachments associated to the portal, so customers can download them. E.g Invoices, but more customised is things like site reports, which are built in Creator.
5. Enable or disable navigation options from within the portal.
6. Customise colours, logo and home page from the custom portal module .
I have attached some example screen shots. Basically we wanted to be able to share any module (customised navigation), so we could create a portal that can be quick to set up and deployed for different industries. I don't think it would be open source code, as it's about being able to create custom solutions with a scaleable approach. I'm sure Zoho will develop more solutions around the portals, for us this was about supporting the business needs in areas we did not see Zoho supporting directly through their core functionality. However, it is something we offer to clients and other Zoho Partners, which they can provide to their customers.
