Custom Fields in Milestones?
Very happy to see the new roll-out of custom fields for tasks! VERY useful for us!!
That being said, we'd really like to see custom fields added to milestones as well.
Here's our use case example:
- We use milestones to trigger billing, i.e. when all the tasks/tasklists associated with the milestone are complete, the milestone is closed and that triggers an invoice that goes out to clients for the work that we've done
- We would appreciate a field in the milestone that we could use to indicate the total $$$ amount to be billed when the milestone is complete
- That would be useful for a number of reasons:
- Our billing department would have a clearer idea of how much $$$ to invoice when the milestone is complete
- We can run reports to do cashflow projections, based on the expected completion date of our milestones + the amount entered in this custom field
Any chance we're going to see custom fields in milestones any time soon? Also, if anyone has any suggestions regarding how best to accomplish what I'm looking for using the existing functionality, send them over.
