Custom Fileds not updated when Converting a Lead

Hello,

We are new to Zoho CRM, so forgive us if this has been answered.  We created about 5 custom fields in our Leads and chose to duplicate those fileds in Prospects, Contacts and Accounts.  However, when we Convert a lead into a prospect, those fields are not being carried over, they are all blank.

Is there a backend way to associate custom fields from one dataset to another?  Why are these values being orphaned?
