Custom Functions in Tasks

When choosing "completed" for the task's status, i want to automatically ask the user if they want to follow up within a certain number of days. If they say no follow up, then nothing happens. If they choose "follow up", i want a new task box to appear asking for the date of the follow up,

Is this possible to achieve?
