Custom Module Issues with Phonebridge and more

So we have decided to go all in on ZohoOne and transform all of our business applications over to Zoho. We are starting with a few applications at a time and figured CRM was a great first app.

We decided to build a custom module for one of the lines of products our customers can own. In this module we created the contact info(BIG MISTAKE it seems), purchase info, finance info, tour info, etc.

We brought in all our records, got them nice and shiny and started updating them. Our next step was to bring in the phone system via phone bridge and Kixie. We loved the fact that records would auto update, click to dial and even update records from a mobile dial. Or so we thought based on how Zoho pitches custom modules From their site: for instance, Leads, Contacts and Potentials will not be ideal for an educational institution. Students, Teachers and Parents would be more appropriate modules for them and they can create these modules.

Now we have rolled out the phone bridge started using it and realize NONE of our records are updating, and its not pulling any CRM data how they sell it. Turns out the only place this works is if you have a Contact or Lead.  Custom modules do not get this feature.

Here we are, now I have a beautiful module that I have have to figure out what to do next with. I am looking for suggestions on how to do this. 

1. Can I export all module data out?
2. Would I then create contacts for all of my customers with just basic contact info, then make a Purchase Module and Finance Module, then somehow create records there based on a Contact record?  I.e. a Customer can be linked to multiple tour, finance, purchases?
3. How would I display this easily?  Right now we have it built that all customers have basic info, then if they own a product, that section shows, if they financed, that section shows...etc.

Any input would be most helpful
