Customer function - How to get current user id?

Hello,

I wish to create a new record in a customer module and set the owner to be the user performing the action.

zoho.loginuser, zoho.loginuserid

appear to give a string and email address respectively, and not the long int required by SMOWNERID.

Any ideas please?
