Customers not authorized to access portal

In Books we send invoices to customers with a payment link. Suddenly they are getting this message -

Our payment service is Stripe. We don't use customer portal feature and just have the payment link sent in the invoice email. 

It's been working fine and just started. I tried logging out of the system and checked the customer invoices. I sent a new invoice. And I went to the payment gateway setup and reentered our Stripe secret live key. But ZB still gives this message.

How can this be corrected?
