Customizing web-to-lead form: email user

Hi

I want to customize the Zoho web-to-lead form so that any users of the form get a confirmation email when they submit.

I am able to modify the code as I have HTML, PHP and CSS experience. However, I'm not sure how to achieve the results I want and need some guidance on this.
