Having some difficulty with the following:
 
New Users are not able to view company-wide data.  They are only limited to viewing records they create or records for individuals in roles that are subordinate to them.
 
I imported a number of accounts/contacts as the administrator and I'm assuming this is preventing them from being viewed by other roles.
 
Is there a way to globally assign these accounts as organization accounts so that others can see them without over-riding settings to give them public read/write access?  I still want to be able to control what data they can manipulate but want most roles to at least see the records.
 
I thought of creating a dummy user with the lowest role on my tree and transfering ownership to them but that would mean using up a license for a user that doesn't really exist.  Not to mention I'd have to give that dummy user an email account which I don't want to do if I don't have to.
 
Any help would be appreciated.
