Date Format Correct in 'Form View' but not in Email Submit

Date Format Correct in 'Form View' but not in Email Submit

I changed the date format to dd.mm.yy and they show up fine in the 'Form View'

In the SendMail, I have the current date being placed in the Subject Line of the email. That format shows up incorrectly as dd-MMM-YYYY.

I am trying use the date in the email subject line as a faux order number. So if the above isn't possible, is there a way to assign an ID# to each entry?
