Many of you are probably seeing service disruptions this week. These have been a result of targeted criminal attacks on our network with the intention to disrupt services to our customers. Such an attack is called a distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS) and it is a criminal intent to make Zoho and all of our services unavailable to customers by flooding our servers with bogus requests from multiple sites.
All your data is sound and secure, but unfortunately you cannot access it predictably. This is like a crowd of people standing around the entrance to your bank, preventing your entry. Your money is in there and safe, you just can't get at it until the crowd has dispersed. We're doing all we can, working round the clock, and with service providers and other experts. We are implementing alternative ways for traffic to get to our sites. We are also contacting law enforcement. We are working under the assumption that they will continue to repeat.
Unfortunately, we cannot tell you exactly when everything will be back to normal since there is no easy way to be sure they will not happen again. We regretfully ask for your patience in advance, knowing fully well that you rely on us to run your business and serve your own customers. We are deeply sorry for your trouble. The only certainty we can give you now is that we are doing our job to make sure you can continue to use our products, to do yours. We greatly value your business and thank you again for placing your trust in us.
We will provide updates through Twitter (@zoho)
