I have a rather simple issue. We are a travel wholesale company and we do packages

We have customised deal stages across the following (quote formulation, initial proposal.....closing sale)

Closing Sale value = Won deal

The deal stage modified is a group field in Zoho at deal level. This logs when every stage update occurs and the time stamp

The issue i have is that there is no way for Zoho to map the stage modified time to the closing deal field (a standard zoho field) against the data that logs when deal stage value = closign sale (which is won deal for us)

We can do it going forward by an execution rule when deal stage = closing ; update deal closing date BUT they could not suggest a way to retrospectively update it (apart from everyone going individualy to thousands of closed deals and updating it manually to this date)

The impact this has is huge - as closing date is a value that is used in dashboards and other analytics in zoho

Consider the following scenario:

- i have a deal that was closing sale in feb

- the deal closing date (existing behaviour) was a random date in march

- re-retrigger of this workflow > updates it to the date of execution date (NOT the date in feb when it closed)

- as a result many reports are wrong

The case and example i have put forward to Zoho CRM and Balaji is simple. I think their product managers should look into this and find a way for us to retrospecitvley update these using the group field data which is logged

SCENARIO:

Month = January and I closed a deal (closing deal value is set on deal stage) > the deal closing date, a zoho standard field, should reflect this date only

 

What we did today was update all these deals and their closing date would have been skewed

 

Zoho Deal Stage history logs everytime a deal value is set, this is a group field.

 

The day the deal stage = closing deal (value in deal stage) > is logged in deal stage history (under last modified time)

 

This value must match the closing deal date

 

Without it matching, dashboards reports and other reports, will show the deal in scenario above, was closed in Feb (as we saw in our example) when in fact it was closed in Jan

 

This would need to be reviewed by product manager and development please
