Dealing with both B2B and B2C customers
Hi, our company sells to both companies and individuals. This becomes a problem when converting leads into accounts because the Company Name field in Leads cannot be re-named and it is mapped directly to the Account Name field in Accounts, which is a required field.
What I would like to be able to do is either:
(a) have the Account Name be mapped from the Company when it's B2B customer and the Account Name mapped from the Contact Name when it's a B2C customer
OR
(b) re-name the Company field to Customer Identifier or something so reps know to enter EITHER the company name or the individual name in there, depending on type
... or some other workaround solution.
Please advise.
