Delayed workflow field update

I'm wondering if anyone using workflow field updates, would find value by having the field update delayed by x number of days?  So for example, I would like to have the lead status field updated from "trial activated" to "trial deactivated", however, not to action this for 7 days, from point of record creation.

The workflow tasks allow you to create by trigger date + x amount of days.  Alternatively, if you could delay a workflow rule + x days, before actioning rule, then I guess this would work as well.

If anyone has any suggested work arounds, that would be greatly appreciated.  Also, please chime in if you think this would be useful with workflow rules & field updates.
