Deleting emails in IMAP client doesn't move them to trash in Zoho

I found a couple of similar posts about this, but the fix seems to be to set either the client and/or Zoho to expunge emails. Thing is, I don't want anything expunged or deleted permanently right away, but I do want the emails moved to trash, so they won't still be in my inbox when I access Zoho on a browser. I use Postbox at home on a Mac, and access Zoho on a browser at work (Windows PC).

Is there a setting I can use that will move emails to trash when I delete them in Postbox, but not expunge them? I don't have that problem with Gmail, which is also IMAP. Anything I do in Postbox looks exactly the same when accessing Gmail in a browser.
