Disable two factor authentication for SMTP?

Hello,

I've seen that Zoho supports two factor authentication. That's really cool.

When I turned on the feature, my mail client (claws-mail) completely failed to send/retreive email, because it has no idea how to deal with the new security feature. May I turn off the feature, for example, for some trusted IP and/or for command line interfaces while I still have the feature for web-based email? Does that make sense?
