Discontinuing Facebook Groups due to API deprecation
Hi everyone,
Following a recent announcement made by Meta, the API for Facebook Groups will be deprecated (made obsolete) and won't be available for all third-party social media management applications.
So, Facebook Groups won't be accessible in any Zoho Social plans from April 22, 2024. This means that you won't be able to manage your Facebook Groups from Social and perform actions like publishing and scheduling posts. You also won't be able to view post details, scheduled posts, and posts waiting for approval under the Posts tab.
Any posts that you've scheduled to go live after April 22, 2024 won't go live.
- If you've scheduled the post for multiple networks including Facebook Groups, then the post will go live for all other networks and Facebook Groups will be removed from the schedule.
- If you've scheduled the post only for Facebook Groups, then the channel will be removed and the post will be automatically pushed to Drafts without any loss of data. You can go ahead and publish the posts directly from the Meta platform.
We understand that this could be an inconvenience to your existing social content plan, but rest assured that we're working continuously to see if it's possible to bring back the support for Facebook Groups via API on Zoho Social. We will keep you updated about any further enhancements.
