Zoho Checkout - Duplicate Customer record created for each payment received
Hi All.
We are using Zoho Checkout to capture online payments for a club membership form (in Zoho Forms).
We've noticed that each new payment seems to create a new customer record, regardless of whether the customer already exists in the Zoho Finance back-end database already. Even if the name, email, mobile and address are an exact match, Zoho Checkout creates a duplicate contact.
There is a checkbox in the settings area for "Allow duplicate customer names". This is not ticked/selected, yet Zoho Checkout still creates an exact duplicate of the existing customer record.
Is it possible to configure Zoho Checkout to avoid creating these duplicates? We can probably write a custom workflow routine to auto-merge duplicates after the fact, but this seems like a hack / work-around to a problem which should not occur in the first place.
