duplicate messages

sometime when i am downloading new mailboxes with a couple of hundred messages, vo starts duplicating messages, sometimes 2 version of the same message get downloaded, sometimes it a couple of hundred copies of the same message. I am using POP protocol to communicate with the mail server and vo is set to delete messages that have been downloaded.
