I made the setting in the customization  section, that no duplicates should be generated considering the email adress. 

I it possible, that the system also recognises that a CONTACT  with the same email already exists while importing LEADS?

Because right now a new LEAD is gernerate through import even ther is a CONTACT with the same mail adress.
