Duplication!!! How do i make sure someone doesn't take the lead i'm working on?

Duplication!!! How do i make sure someone doesn't take the lead i'm working on?

I have been able to click on the same lead as someone else and work on it at the same time - this gets messy quick.  How do I set the system so that it doesn't allow that to happen?

Help.
