Did you know you can create custom fields from the List view in Zoho Projects?

As a project manager, your day to day work ranges from task creation, assignment to phase completion checks and time log tracking. While reviewing records under each module, you may need to log details or run quick calculations without stepping away from your current task. In Zoho Projects, custom fields can be created directly from the List view. This helps users stay focused without switching screens.

Let's assume a digital advertising firm managing campaigns for multiple clients. As tasks progress, the project manager reviews and assigns tasks, and certain campaign specific details might need to be added along the way. For quick notes, the manager adds a Multi-Line field as a custom field directly from the List view rather than navigating to Setup. Depending on the type of data to be entered or calculated, the manager can also add a Summary field for phase billable hours, a Single Line field for invoice references, or a Multi-User Picklist field to tag collaborators without transferring ownership, enabling quicker and more informed decisions.

To add a custom field from the List view, navigate to the required module, click  in the upper right corner of the List view, and select Create Custom Field. Enter the field name, configure the required settings, and click Add to Layout.
