e-mail templates

Hello. I want to report a failure of the e-mail template system. When i configure a template, the system aske me to select a "sender" adress, and a "respond adress". But, when i´m going to send the e-mail, that "response adress" is anywhere, and the send adress cannot be updated. What can i do?
