Easily resolve Zoho CRM sandbox conflicts during deployment
Dear all,
In response to the current scenario and the growing demand for a more robust Sandbox environment, we are pleased to announce significant enhancements to Zoho CRM's Sandbox; you can now resolve conflict cases directly, alongside some UI enhancements. These updates are designed to empower you to test new features and configurations more effectively before deploying them to your live CRM environment.
Let's first understand the problems we are trying to resolve.
- In the current Sandbox check dependency flow, if an associated item is missing, the system will only show the type of the item without showing its actual name. This lack of specific information makes it challenging to identify and resolve issues.
- Again, resolving these conflicts currently necessitates users to modify configurations within the Sandbox organization manually, a task that can be both intricate and time-consuming.
So without any delay, let's jump into the key enhancements.
Key Enhancements
- Improved conflict and dependency display
We've improved how conflicts and dependencies are displayed in the check dependency flow. Now, you can see detailed information about the items involved, such as the module and the field names associated with the conflict. This enhancement improves visibility and understanding of the dependencies and conflicts and eventually helps you make better decisions during customization and deployment.

- Conflict resolution directly from the Check Dependency page
Recognizing the need for a more streamlined approach to managing conflicts, we have introduced a robust mechanism that allows you to resolve conflicts directly within the check dependency page of the Sandbox. This proactive feature significantly enhances the user experience by providing immediate resolution options for several common conflict scenarios, which currently include:
- Associated item missing conflict: This occurs when changes associated with an item are present in the Sandbox but have not been selected for deployment. The new flow now identifies and selects the dependent items for deployment upon clicking resolve.

- Duplicate name conflict: Users now can rename duplicate names and resolve conflicts directly from the dependency page to prevent confusion and errors during deployment.

- Developer-user association conflict: There can be situations where a developer has configured changes in your sandbox and that leads to a conflict during deployment. With the latest enhancement, you will now have the option to resolve it directly on the deployment pop-up. You can simply choose to replace the developer from the list of available users in the org.

That's all for the enhancements. Let us know your feedback in the comments below.
Thanks,
Nizamuddin
P.S. These enhancements are currently live for all users in all DCs.
