3 issues please...

 

1) on the crm in products, I am am trying to add a new custom field listing every make of car (about 30 fields). Whenever I do this I get a "duplicate values" error dialog box, even though there are no duplicate values. If i reduce number of fields in pick list to just 5, then suddenly it's ok and error message goes away.

 

Is there a very low limit on number of options in a pick list for a custom field? I have also tried editing an existing field in basic set-up and the same problem occurs when I add to many custom fields. Any ideas or solutions? Do I need to create a parent and child picklist with lower numbers of options from each quick-list? If so what is recommended max number of options for quick pick list.

 

2) When I called support, I was advised to make sure that any alterations or custom field changes I made to LEADS should also be reflected in contacts & potentials or software would not integrate and work properly. I was told to make the custom fields in each screen the same.

 

I'm ok with that but I have another question...I am trying to edit the custom fields in the PRODUCTS module. If I edit the custom fields in the product module, is it important for invoicing, quickbooks integration and effective operation etc that I have the exact same custom fields in other modules? IF so which? Quote? Invoicing? or does this advice only apply to leads/contacts/potentials/accounts?

 

3) I notice you have a CRM for blackberry mobile in beta test. GREAT IDEA GUYS! This could be a world-beating product. My question is this, at present I notice it works with contacts, leads etc but not all modules. I totally understand you are at the cutting edge and working as hard as you can...my question is this...Is it your hope that at some time in future you will be able to access other modules from mobile app? For example, quotes and invoicing?

 

I think this would be very POPULAR. you could nick business from Bill.com etc. I have mobile operatives on the road. Often they don't know exact price of job until completed. If they could generate, email and print invoices from the blackberry I think this would become a killer app - esp with Quickbooks integration.

 

4) I notice you offer Quickbooks integration as an add on...my question is this...Do you think this add-on will work with UK version of Quickbooks?
