This is a failure of design;
Why can’t “I” choose what “contact” or “account” an email (sending or receiving) is being associated with?
I have several standard and engineered sales projects going at once. I typically have a “customer” a “distributor” (That have a “sales team”) and a “manufacturer” (That have an “engineering team”). All of the emails, documents, phone conversations and resulting combinations need to be “anchored” to the customer, in my CRM. Not forced to associate who sent the email.
Example; The “customer” asks for a product and pricing. Sometimes a standard product. Sometimes competitive pricing. Sometimes a custom version or full custom design. This may be a one-time contact. Or it maybe the start of a year long conversation. The distributor, manufacturer and I start a "conversation". That conversation maybe several emails, notes and documents. All related to that customer. At the same time, the same distributor, manufacturer and I are having a different conversation about a different customer. Or maybe it is the same distributor and a different manufacturer. I need to always anchor my "conversation" to the end customer.
I can choose to tie any “contact” to any “account” why can’t email be the same?
I have a simple thread connection on my standard laptop. Why can’t ZOHO go way beyond that? When an email is sent out or received, I want the option of who to associate it with. Does anyone know how to do this in ZOHO? This is a deal breaker for me!!!
