Email journaling is now available in Zoho Mail

When issues escalate, IT, security, compliance and audit teams rarely need just “the latest email”. They need a dependable record of everything that was sent and received, in sequence, that isn’t affected by inbox clean ups or account changes.

Email journaling in Zoho Mail is designed for that need.

When enabled, it captures a copy of every email as it passes through the mail system, before it reaches any inbox, and routes that copy to a destination your organization controls.

The journal copy includes the full message and metadata, so it remains available even if users delete mail, accounts are deactivated, or primary retention policies expire.

This is different from backup and retention. Backup helps you recover lost or corrupted mail. Retention defines how long mail is kept in the primary system. Journaling helps you demonstrate what communications actually took place.

For IT admins, compliance and audit teams, especially in regulated environments, this can help with:
  • Regulatory or internal audits.
  • Customer or employee disputes.
  • Internal investigations and reviews of past decisions.
