Email not marked read on Outlook 2016

Hi,

am having an issue with Outlook 2016 where outlook will mark a message as unread even though I have viewed it a few seconds ago and had it change to read.


IMAP from a Zoho Mail Account

I have tried setting the reading pane to mark as read at 0 seconds, 1 second  or when I move to the next item with no difference in behavior.

Example

  • Open outlook and see there are 5 messages unread
  • Select the first message - message marks as read
  • Move down to next message - almost instantly the first message is marked as unread.

If I am quick enough I can make all 5 go to read only to have them all pop back up as unread.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on what is causing this or how to fix it?  HELP!?!?!?!?!
