Email tagging for emails to account records

So i've purchased the new CRM for zoho and am left just a little dissapointed.  It has been advertised that the zoho email-plugin brings your email into the crm and then has the ability to attach it to a record. 

What it does not tell you is that this doesn't apply to any emails currently in your inbox, and only applies when you've previously created a record for a contact.  I don't know about most businesses, but in my world prospects contact me first and most often through email.  So even if i go to create a record, it's too late for the emails that have already been received.

Can someone suggest a work-a-round?  Am i missing something?

Just to clarify - zoho really does rock, this is just a fairly big issue that i wasn't prepared to deal with and may have me rethinking my CRM choice.
