Hi All,
Our email templates have gotten out of control since we implemented the system a 18 months ago. We never really used the wildcard functionality so I have hundreds of the similar emails from each person on my sales team. The wildcard and add user signature functionality goes a long way to cleaning this up but each email template has a mandatory requirement to be from a specific user when it is saved.
This works fine when a user picks a template and sends email one at a time but when the mass email function is used the email is "from" user X not user Y, the person who is actually sending the email. I think it looks very unprofessional to have an email that is from two different people.
The only workarounds I see are to once again have the same template multiplied across all of the people who may need it or send mass emails from a generic address for all mass emails.
I am not sure I understand the point of all this great wildcard functionality if you can not use for mass emails.
Does anyone have some sort of idea to get around this limit?
Thanks,
Adam
Edit: All that is needed to fix this is a wildcard ${user.current} I could add into the From field of the template. With simple fix I could create a bunch of templates just once and they would work for all users in the company.
