Emails sent via Gmail not appearing in Zoho CRM Contact

Emails sent via Gmail not appearing in Zoho CRM Contact

So I have my business Gmail and Zoho CRM linked so that anything sent or received through one, will appear in the other. The only problem is that when I send an email through Gmail to a contact, it doesn't appear in the email records of the contact on Zoho CRM. And when I send an email to a contact via Zoho CRM, it appears in the Sent box in Gmail. Receiving email through either always appears in both. 

Can anyone help explain the issue?
