Enforcing the Zoho One UnifiedUI

Enforcing the Zoho One UnifiedUI

After more than two years from initially introducing the Zoho One UnifiedUI, we have received a lot of good feedback regarding the performance and usability and we have also been able to enhance this feature in a myriad of ways. Now that the UnifiedUI (UUI) has proven to be stable and is performing better than ever, we have begun to enforce it's use across all Zoho One applications.

What Does This Mean?

Starting today, when logging into the Zoho One homepage users will automatically be directed to the new version of Zoho One's UUI, which was previously available as an option to try. The new UUI can be distinguished from the old UI by the dark blue bar across the top of the page and the left sidebar with app icons visible.

New Zoho One UUI

In addition to the changes when visiting the Zoho One homepage, the Unified UI will be enabled across Zoho applications when you navigate using the app icons in the left sidebar. There have beens some changes to some individual app UIs to accommodate the Zoho One UUI, like with new Zoho CRM UI, where the left sidebar with the Modules, Reports, Analytics, Marketplace, and Settings buttons have been moved to the top of the page, as shown below:

Earlier this morning, an addition change was forcing redirection to the new UUI whenever navigating to an individual app via URL (i.e. going to crm.zoho.com or books.zoho.com), but this change has since been reverted. If you would like to avoid using the Zoho One UUI for an individual app, then you can choose to do so by typing the app URL into your browser's address bar or saving the URLs for your apps to bookmarks.

An easy way to tell which type of URL you are currently visiting is to check if the URL begins with the app name or "one.zoho.com", the later of which will indicate that the Zoho One UUI is being used.

Switching back to the old version

If you or any of your users would like to instead avoid using the Zoho One UUI entirely, then you can still do so by going to your Zoho One homepage and then clicking the user profile image in the top right and choosing the option to "Switch to old version". This will revert Zoho One to the old UI, where clicking on an app from the My Apps page will open that app in a new web tab. If you try to do this from within another app, it will redirect you to the Zoho One homepage, where you can then choose to navigate back to any app that you choose.

Here is an example of switching back to the old UI when starting from the CRM:

It is important to note that after 15 days, things will automatically be changed back to the new Zoho One UUI, but at this point you should be able to repeat the process of switching back to the old UI version.

Feedback & Updates

As with any new feature enhancement, we welcome any feedback regarding this change and we will also provide any updates regarding the enforcement of the Zoho One Unified UI here in the Enterprise Support Community as well.
