Enhance form structure with the Heading field

Enhance form structure with the Heading field

Hello form builders,

A form without structure creates cognitive load. When respondents can see where one section ends and where another begins, they move through the form with less friction and more confidence.

This is the reason we have introduced Heading field: a dedicated, fully styleable title element built specifically to help organize complex form.

Heading Field

What is it and what makes it different

If you've been using the Section field to break up your forms, you know it comes with a line separator and a fairly fixed presentation. The Heading field is different.

It is designed to represent styled titles where you get control over font size, text color, background color, and alignment—for both the heading and the description beneath it. You can also attach an image to the heading block, with control over image size and both horizontal and vertical alignment relative to the text.

It does not include a line separator (and yes, that's intentional). If you need a clean visual break with a separator, use the Section field. If you need a styled, freestanding title element, then use Heading field.

Why structure matters in form design

We know nobody finishes a form thinking, "Wow, those headings were magnificent." But they do notice when a form feels organized, and fast to complete. When people can see a structured form, they know where they are, how much is left, and what comes next. This keeps them moving forward instead of abandoning the form halfway.

Where it's useful
  1. Introducing a group of related questions.
  2. Adding a visual callout before a critical section.
  3. Creating titled breaks in multi-page forms.
Over to you
