Enhanced Duplicate Checking for Leads in CRM

Dear Enterprise Community,

We are pleased to introduce a new feature aimed at enhancing data integrity within your CRM system. You can now easily identify and prevent duplicate entries in your leads by comparing them with existing records in the Contacts Module.

Previously, only converted leads were checked for duplicates upon entry, potentially allowing directly added contacts to slip through unchecked. With this update, CRM users can now proactively check for duplicates within the Contacts module itself. This can be accomplished by selecting 'Contacts' in the Duplicate Check Preference drop-down menu and specifying the unique field for comparison.


Consider a scenario where a Sales Rep, John, adds a potential customer named Emily as a lead. While the system automatically checks for uniqueness against converted leads, it might miss duplicate entries if Emily is already linked as a contact due to previous interactions. To streamline efforts and prevent redundancy, John can now cross-check across contacts and leads, ensuring no duplicate entries are created.

This enhancement significantly reduces the risk of duplicate records and ensures data integrity across both Leads and Contacts modules.

This feature is currently available in the Ultimate Edition, with availability for all DC users in the coming days. Please note that it is available upon request for Enterprise Edition.
