I am having an intermittent mail problem that needs to be resolved or it’s time to replace Zoho.
I have been using Zoho Mail since September 2011. During that time, the email program has worked 90% of the time as designed. However, there continues to be a problem with sending email.
I do not have my mail hosted by Zoho. I am using GoDaddy for mail hosting.
The problem that comes and goes is that when sending mail, I periodically receive one of two error messages.
Sometimes the error message in a red box shows “Reason: Connection closed by remote host” and other times it shows “Reason: Unrecognized SSL message, plaintext connection?”
Now, before you blame GoDaddy on the problem again, because I have gone through an attempt to fix it exercise before, I found another post in this forum from someone about a year ago posting a message about the same “Unrecognized SSL message” issue. That person has his mail hosted with HostGator.
I call GoDaddy. They point the finger at Zoho. I call Zoho. They point the finger at GoDaddy. At the suggestion of your techs and GoDaddy techs, I have tried changing ports, changed from SSL to not and others. The problem goes away for a while and then starts happening again.
When I am conducting business and am having to make four, five or even eight attempts to sending mail before it will send, the frustration is off the chart.
Something is wrong somewhere.
Is the problem with Zoho? Is the problem with GoDaddy and HostGator? I don’t know. I just need this thing fixed so I don’t have to take 20 minutes of time to post a message of this nature.
Overall, I like Zoho. But, if Zoho developers can’t resolve this issue once and for all, it might be time to move on.
Are there any other Zoho users with GoDaddy mail having the same periodic problem? Please post your experience.
I am not adverse to moving mail services away from GoDaddy to solve the problem. So, are there Zoho users that have never seen either one of these two error messages? If so, what mail service, other than Zoho, are you using? If you are not seeing these messages, it might just mean that your service is more compatible with Zoho, for some reason, than GoDaddy or HostGator.
