Will it ever be possible to have an "existing record" subform. This would enable the function to be able to edit existing records and link them to one form. I know you have lookups, but this doesnt allow the user to edit fields on the existing record directly. 

Maybe have a feature on the existing subform "add new record / Add Existing record?
