Facebook Deprecates its APIs: Effect on Facebook Integration with Zoho CRM

Facebook has introduced a newer version of their APIs and is mandating developers to move to the new version. This has resulted in the deprecation of certain existing APIs, which have been used in Facebook integration with Zoho CRM. Due to this move, a few Facebook-based features will not be available in Zoho CRM with effect from December 15th, 2014. They are as follows:
  • Social search in Zoho CRM will not include Facebook search. This option will be removed. Twitter search will remain intact. 

  • Facebook-searches that you have saved will show an error message if you try to access them after this date. It is recommended that you delete those searches by December 15, 2014. 
  • The Add Keyword option for Facebook Search Settings will be removed. 

  • Besides this, the Add Friend option found for the Facebook Profile in the Record's Detail Page will no longer be available.

Apart from the above mentioned features, all other features will remain intact. You will continue to be able to add Leads/Contact from Facebook, reply to Facebook updates of your customers and so on.
