Currently, Restricted Holidays in Zoho People are handled through the Leave module. Employees have to go through Apply Leave and select the Restricted Holiday as a Leave Type in order to avail it.
From an HR perspective, a Restricted Holiday isn't really "Leave." It's already a declared Restricted holiday, and the employee is simply choosing to avail it rather than requesting time off in the traditional sense. Routing this through Apply Leave feels like a workaround rather than a purpose built flow, and it is confusing for employees who don't quite see why they're "applying for leave" to avail something that's already marked as a holiday by the organisation.
I think this would make the experience more intuitive for employees, since availing a holiday and applying for leave are conceptually different actions and could be represented differently in the interface. It would also reduce confusion for HR teams who often have to explain this distinction. Importantly, this wouldn't require any change to the existing backend logic around entitlement, approval, attendance, or calendar integration, since it's really a front end change rather than a rearchitecture.
