Field Servicing Tool in CRM - Check this out!
It is a little early to show case it, as we're going to be adding a few more bells and whistles over the next couple of weeks, but I wanted to give the Zoho Partners a sneak preview. This will be our 24th Widget developed for Zoho Partners. I has to be my favorite so far. Yes it's a scheduling tool in CRM.
Why? We waited for the new field servicing app before deciding to go down this path. We evaluated if we integrated with the new app or if we built a widget in CRM to meet our client needs. We decided for our clients (which is not everyone) the widget could meet some extra requirements.
- It Integrates with a BOQ Estimating. So we can track time and costs against our quotes, using our BOM and Schedule of Rates.
- It uses a custom module for Resources, which means we can schedule Sub Contractors and Assets without increasing user licences.
- It enables us to assign Creator Site Reports for compliance, safety, checklists etc.
- We can colour code our tasks, to see which resources (people, assets, workstations are allocated to the same task).
- We can set mins before and after for preparation or travel (yes, we will definitely be looking into Google Maps next week).
- The Schedule integrates with Zoho Projects. So, field service staff can update their tasks, manage their site reports and update their timesheets in one place.
- I think the most important benefit is our clients are not using another app. Most of our clients have a single resource pool for large Projects and Service Jobs. So Head Office staff can Estimate, Schedule and Manage Budgets from CRM. We have a heap of other widgets to mange these processes too.
Maybe one day Zoho will provide a solution that makes this obsolete, but for now it fills a gap we are challenged with everyday.
