Field Shows in Fields List But Not Edit Page Layout! Help!

Hi,

I work for a 2-year college and have set up Zoho CRM to track the development of online courses.

I renamed "Potentials" to "Courses" and added a custom field. But it was the wrong type (I needed text and not number, since I need to enter a decimal), but when I deleted the custom field from the Fields List, the crucial field "Amount" (which continues to show in the Fields List, DISAPPEARED from the Edit Page Layout view.

Clicking on New Course (that is, New Potentials) shows the Amount field in place (whew!) but it won't show up in the Edit Page Layout and this makes it impossible to put the layout in the proper field order.

I'm running Windows XP SP2 on a Dell Inspiron 9200, using Firefox 2.x and Java 1.5. I've restarted the browser and refreshed the page but the Amount field does not appear. The list of "available fields" shows the Amount field to be in use--but it doesn't show on the layout.
