filesharing permissions

I think that it would be great if I could 'internally' share a document with myself, but not make it publicly searchable and crawlable - like in the case where I want to construct a spreadsheet, and then embed it in a Zoho wiki. Also to make a document public, but without being located on the server in a way that makes it searchable and crawlable by search engines.
