filter criteria

Hi! Am trying to create a simple filter to separate any email with *LE* in the subject line ... The filter is pulling anything with le out ... Can you tell me how to specify an exact string in the filter? ... I've tried "*LE*", but that just got anything with ".... LE ..." ... it missed all the actual *LE* entries.
