Filter Task vs Subtasks in Reports

Hi: 

While using reports, I cant find a way to separate tasks vs. subtasks. 

Example: 
  • I am getting 18 tasks in the report, but only 3 are real tasks, 15 are the steps needed to achieve those 3 tasks. 
  • I have to report my boss/client only the tasks. He doesn't need to know about the steps needed internally to complete a task. 
Is there a way I can get a report only of the tasks?
